In 2011 my wife and I stayed in the Romanian city of Pitești for about three months. There we saw how the world of modern-day industry (we lived on PETROCHEMISTS’ BOULEVARD) crashed into the world of traditional Romanian living (we saw horse-drawn buggies on the same roads as cars).
Also, there’s now a McDonald’s in Pitești — two of them, actually. When we visited one of the McDonald’s there, I spotted a little booklet that championed the nutritional value of McDonald’s food.
The booklet, copyrighted in 2006 by the McDonald’s Corporation, even includes a food pyramid comprised entirely of McDonald’s fare (photo below). Yep, that’s right, you can eat every meal of your life at McDonald’s in Romania. It’s just that good — and good for you!
I wonder if the documentary Super Size Me has been dubbed in Romanian yet…
